Art J. Finlayson Architect MAIBC MRAIC – Senior Partner  

Art has practiced architecture in Alberta, Ontario and British Columbia.  He has been a principal in three previous architectural practices where he has worked in a variety of architectural projects from institutional, educational, recreational, and residential. Art is an active member in the community and sits on the board of director of the Peninsula Chamber of Commerce and at the Saanich Historical Artifacts Society. His experience includes design, programming and planning for Lethbridge College, Golden Courthouse, Calgary Centre for the Performing Arts, Kananaskis Visitor Centre, Shoal Centre, Tsawout Community Centre, design guidelines for Victoria International Airport and for Adaptable Housing Society in Sidney BC.  (Art has been an integral part of developing the Town of Sidney’s Accessible design guidelines through serving as a board member of Sidney’s Universal housing Committee for 6 years.)   art@finlaysonbonet.ca

Silvia M. Bonet Architect MAIBC – Partner

Silvia is an architect registered in BC and Argentina and will be the project architect responsible for oversight of the design. Silvia has extensive design experience involving complex commercial, industrial and multi family residential buildings such as Bethel Centre, Emmanuel Baptist Church Gymnasium renovation, Dogwood estates, Goldstream Gates, and McDonald Park Estates. Silvia is passionate about community involvement and amongst other volunteer duties is a board member of the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. She will attend stakeholder meetings to receive the input of the interested parties and to discuss the different options to produce a design that reflects the client’s wishes.Silvia infuses her passion and ‘sweetness’ in to the architectural process and her personality shines through in her designs. silvia@finlaysonbonet.ca

Kyle Shick – Project Manager

Kyle is the Project Manager in our office with 15 years of experience and an extensive knowledge of the building code and construction methodology. He is responsible for the development of the design, production and coordination of construction documents.   He does the majority of onsite construction review and administration, performs all 3D modelling and rendering and enjoys the challenge of using his ‘Macgyver’ like skills to solve the impossible. Kyle has been job captain on several complex projects on Vancouver Island. He has project experience with Vancouver Island Health Authority, The Capitol Regional District, The City of Langford, Various Provincial Government Departments, and Point Hope Shipyards.  Kyle will be involved from schematic design right though to the commissioning of the project supporting the project team in any capacity as required.   kyle@finlaysonbonet.ca

Ainsley Viggers – Senior Architectural Technologist

Ainsley is an architectural technologist recently completely her B.A. in Architectural 
 Science Degree from BCIT and Diploma of Interior Design from VIU.  She is extremely 
passionate about architecture and design, especially in sustainable design keeping in mind 
the cultural and social paradigm which are integral to any project.  Ainsley’s skills 
allow her to be able to work on the design development stage all the way to the construction 
documentation.  She has previous experience working on LEED projects, being involved 
with the integrated design process and the documentation.  Ainsley also has a good understanding 
of the building science aspect of design and looks forward to the challenges of making a design

Erick Gonzalez – Architectural Technologist

Erick is a registered Architect in Mexico with over 10 years of experience in the architectural field throughout Mexico, U.S.A. and Canada. Erick has worked in a variety of projects that include residential, commercial, healthcare and sports complexes.  He is passionate and committed with architectural design and always trying to innovate and discover improved ways and methods to better serve clients and achieve their goals.  Erick’s previous experience allowed him to obtain the ability to produce 3D modelling and rendering for promotional and presentation work. erick@finlaysonbonet.ca 

Robert Chase – Architectural Technologist

A graduate of Pacific Design Academy’s Architectural Building Technology program,  Robert is an architectural technologist who has worked for Finlayson Bonet for eight years. He enjoys working on both residential and commercial projects and has participated in serveral community improvement projects on the Saanich Peninsula including the Saanich Historical Artifcats Society, North Saanich Bike Park and Vancouver Island Model Engineers.  Robert’s previous ten years of experience as a freelance illustrator and animator allows him to produce renderings, promotional and presentation work. robert@finlaysonbonet.ca
